Abstract
|
|
|
A 13-yr-old boy was brought to emergency room because of generalized tonic-clonic geizure, associated with headache and coca-cola colored urine following an 8 days history of URI. On admission his blood pressure was 140/110 mmHg. Lumbar puncture
and
brain CT performed immediately after admission showed non-specific findings. Brain MRI showed multiple bilateral symmetric gyriform high signal intensities in the occipital cortex and frontal deep white matter with adjacent white matter edema on
T1W1.
His blood pressure began to fall after 2days treatment of antihypertensive drugs. Completely resolved findings were noted in the brain MRI after his blood pressure was normalized. We report a case of hypertensive encephalopathy with APSGN with a
brief
review of literature.
